SOCIAL COMMITMENT

Throughout his career, Salvador Díaz has maintained a sustained commitment to social engagement through the donation of artworks, educational programs, public workshops, and benefit exhibitions supporting cultural, educational, health, and humanitarian organizations.

 Since co-founding Había una y muchas veces más A.C. with his wife, Mery, in 2018, he has continued to develop arts-based educational and creative programs that promote reading, imagination, and community development among children.

2016

MARCO Museum – 25th Anniversary Art Marathon. Contemporary Painting and Ethics: Through the Press. Full-day (Sunday, November 27) workshop exploring painting through newspapers as a space for critical reflection. Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO), Monterrey, Mexico.

"Tlatlaya Soldados." Fifty-eight percent of the artwork's sale was donated through Casa Gimau to benefit Fundación Sembrarte, supporting single mothers. The work was also reproduced on fabric for the Wear Your Art fashion project presented at Palacio de Hierro, San Pedro Garza García, Mexico.

"Pedro Friedeberg Chair." Participated in Manos por México, benefiting Fundación En Nuestras Manos. ArtHouse, Tulum, Mexico.

Casa Hogar Mamá Paulita. Artwork donated through Casa Gimau in support of children living in vulnerable conditions in Tamaulipas, Mexico.


2015

Red Cross Monterrey Benefit Auction. Commissioned painting created using newspapers selected by the collector to commemorate the 108th anniversary of Frida Kahlo's birth. Auction proceeds generated a donation of MXN 40,000 for the institution.
